What I do
Packaging support
I manage packaging projects from the first briefing to approved production. Independent, honest and with 28 years of experience in carton packaging and print techniques.
Packaging starts with brand and strategy — not with a pretty picture. I analyse your current situation, translate brand strategy into concrete choices of shape, material and appearance, and write the briefing that actually helps a designer move forward.
I don't design myself, but I provide art direction, guide agency selection and contribute to concept and elaboration. Throughout, I keep an eye on feasibility: production methods, material costs and planning are part of the process from the very first sketch.
- Analysis of your current packaging situation
- Translating brand strategy into a packaging concept
- Writing briefings for designers and agencies
- Agency selection and guidance
- Art direction and concept review
- Monitoring feasibility on execution, budget and timing
A good design stands or falls with the translation to production. I select producers, compare quotes and assess quality and risks — independently and without a stake in any specific supplier.
Technical specifications, print work, finishing and production requirements are documented to ensure unambiguous communication with suppliers. My specialism lies in carton packaging, HQ flexo, digital print techniques and labels. For larger projects I manage the full tender process and the first productions.
- Selection of producers and printers
- Comparing quotes and assessing risks
- Documenting technical specifications and production requirements
- Defining materials, print work and finishing
- Tender management and negotiations
- Managing first productions and quality control
I analyse your existing packaging situation and provide concrete improvement proposals — first at portfolio level, then at product level. The assignment can be approached from a marketing angle (brand appearance, positioning, consistency) or from procurement (costs, suppliers, specifications, sustainability).
If a project gets stuck or you temporarily lack capacity, I step in as a temporary member of your team — the link between marketing, procurement and suppliers.
- Analysis and assessment of existing packaging
- Improvement proposals at portfolio and product level
- Cost reduction and supplier optimisation
- More sustainable solutions
- Temporary team member during peaks or projects
- Link between marketing, procurement and suppliers
How we work together
Clear and predictable
I work on the basis of fixed agreements: a project budget, a monthly part-time arrangement or a retainer. That way you know upfront what it costs, I can really get to grips with your situation and you don't have to track every hour. From a one-off analysis to long-term collaboration — the format adapts to your needs.

Frequently asked questions
-
By translating brand strategy into concrete choices of shape, material, colour and finishing from the very beginning. Packaging is not an afterthought — it is a marketing instrument that communicates at every touchpoint. I write the briefing that ensures this, and monitor it throughout the entire process.
-
The three most common problems: designs that cannot technically be produced, budgets that are only considered late in the process, and marketing and production failing to communicate. I prevent this by including production methods, material costs and timing from day one.
-
I don't design myself, but I manage the design process fully. That includes: agency selection, writing the briefing, providing art direction and ensuring the design can actually be produced within budget and schedule. You retain creative control; I make sure everything adds up.
-
Yes, regularly. I work as an extension of the marketing team — as someone who bridges brand strategy and packaging choices, and handles communication with designers, printers and producers. That leaves you time for your own work.
-
By incorporating production methods, materials and costs from the very first sketch. With 28 years of experience in carton packaging, HQ flexo, digital print techniques and labels, I often spot production problems in the design phase — before they cost money.
-
Better packaging, realised faster, within budget. Fewer revisions because design and production are aligned from the start. And independent advice that serves your brand — not the interests of a designer or producer.
-
Yes. From the first strategic analysis to managing the first production. But individual assignments are also possible: just a briefing, just a tender, just a portfolio analysis. The collaboration adapts to what you need at that moment.
